    Welcome to the application for the Office of New Student and Family Transitions (NSFT) Orientation Leader position! We're excited about your interest in joining us.
    About the Orientation Leader Role
    The Orientation Leader position is a prestigious leadership opportunity at Augusta University. Orientation Leaders support the transition of new students and families while gaining extensive leadership knowledge and experience.

    Orientation Leaders prepare our new students, parents, and family members for a life-changing, life-saving education by guiding them through a comprehensive transition program to connect with resources, community, and systems of care.
     

    As an Orientation Leader, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Attend our Orientation Leader Welcome on Tuesday, December 2 from 7:00-9:00 PM
    • Lead and participate in all transition initiatives, including:
      • New Student/Family Orientation, Summer 2026
      • LEAP Week: Extended Orientation, Summer 2026
    • Take Leadership 2000 in Spring 2026, a 3-credit-hour course designed to help you develop your leadership skills
    • Connect with a team of like-minded student leaders and receive mentorship from experienced Student Coordinators, Interns, Graduate Assistants, and Professional Staff
    • Leave an impact on new Jags, their family members, and the Augusta University community!

    Eligibility Requirements for Orientation Leaders

    • Must plan to be a full-time student at Augusta University from August 2025 - August 2026.
    • Must be available to attend our mandatory Orientation Leader Welcome on Tuesday, December 2 from 7:00-9:00 PM (Reading Day)
    • Must be available to take LDRS 2000 in Spring 2026 (T/R 5:30-6:45 PM)
      • Note: This course involves participation in 3 training weekends (one in February, March, and April).
    • Must be available to work at all New Student Orientation sessions and LEAP Week
      • New Student Orientation sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays, late May - mid July 2026, 6:30 AM - 6:00 PM
      • LEAP Week: 5-7 days leading up to first day of classes in August 2026
    • Must have a minimum of a 2.2 GPA
    • Must be in good standing with their academic college and Augusta University
    • Must be able to pass a background check through the Office of Human Resources at Augusta University

    Student Orientation Leader: 
    This role includes facilitating small group activities, leading campus tours, and helping new students connect with each other and with Augusta University.

    Parent and Family Orientation Leader: This role involves guiding parents and families through their orientation experience, including leading campus tours, participating in Q&A panels, and offering support throughout the day.

    Logistics Orientation Leader:
    This role focuses on supporting behind-the-scenes operations, including the setup and cleanup of orientation programs. Logistics Orientation Leaders provide extra hands for various tasks as they arise and work closely with campus partners and NSFT staff.

    While each Orientation Leader role has its own unique responsibilities, working together as a team is key to the overall success of each orientation session.
